NEWS: Lt. Governor Zuckerman Statement on Proposition 4

MONTPELIER, Vt:  On Tuesday, Lieutenant Governor Zuckerman released the following statement after Proposition 4 successfully passed the Vermont Senate:

“I am happy to see that Proposition 4, a constitutional amendment that would enshrine equal treatment and respect under the law regardless of a person’s race, ethnicity, sex, disability, equal orientation, gender identity, gender expression, national origin, or religion, has received the unanimous support of the Vermont Senate. In an era when our federal Supreme Court has ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade, rejected affirmative action, and has taken increasingly more conservative and extreme viewpoints on matters of equity, it is important for Vermont to affirm our commitment to protecting the most vulnerable people in our society. This amendment will ensure that equity will be a foundational tenant that guides our state for generations to come.”
