Statement of Lt. Governor Molly Gray on the Senate’s Passing of H.736
Montpelier, Vt. — This afternoon, Lt. Governor Molly Gray released the following statement on the Senate’s passing of H.736, An act relating to the Transportation Program and miscellaneous changes to laws related to transportation:
“I applaud Senator Dick Mazza, Chair of Senate Committee on Transportation, and the entire Committee for their hard work on this year’s historic transportation bill. Of note, this bill marks the 32nd transportation bill led by Senator Mazza. As passed by the Senate, the bill includes more than $8 million in funding for transportation infrastructure and electric vehicle access, deeply necessary for reducing carbon emissions and strengthening our resilience in the face of climate change.
In particular, this transportation bill will make it possible for more Vermonters to access electric and fuel-efficient vehicles – a necessary step in making sure every Vermonter can participate in climate action.
As Senate President, I was proud to announce the bipartisan unanimous vote for this historic investment, made possible in significant part by federal funds and the leadership of our Vermont congressional delegation.”
