Rural VT/Small Farm Advocacy Day

Lt. Governor David Zuckerman is excited to join Rural VT for Small Farm Advocacy Day. Throughout the day, farmers and their allies will be able to speak with both the House and Senate Agriculture Committees. We are asking participants to bring stories from their fams and communities that relate to: particular challenges and/or opportunities they see, and any of the core issues Rural Vermont is working on, including: Maintaining and improving the On-Farm Slaughter law; how current and proposed regulations of wetlands affect farmers; funding for water quality; proposed changes to Act 250 that would affect agricultural and forestry practices; funding for Farm-to-School and Farm to Plate programs; and supporting agricultural practices that grow soil and climate change resiliency. For more information, please call the Lt. Governor's Office at 802-828-2666 or visit the Facebook event page.
