Volunteering in Vermont and the United States

28 March 2019

Lt. Governor David Zuckerman had an enlightening conversation with Wendy Rice, President of Green Mountain Returned Peace Corps Volunteer Association, and Gina Pandolfo, former Peace Corps and AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer. One in four US citizens volunteer for organizations like the Peace Corps and AmeriCorps. Specifically, Vermonters have a rich history of volunteering that exceeds the national average. Vermont ranks second nationally per capita, sending 6.9 Peace Corps volunteers for every 100,000 residents with a total of 1,622 since 1961. The Lt. Governor, Wendy Rice, and Gina Pandolfo continued to discuss the impact of volunteerism on the non-profit community and the business sector.
