Banned Book Tour with Lt. Governor David Zuckerman
Over the past few years, we have seen a rise in books being banned in schools and public libraries across the country. The reasons for these books being challenged range from the inclusion of LGBTQ+ characters and themes; language that is deemed to be too sexual, profane, or inappropriate for children and teens; promoting ideas that are anti-police or that emphasize the problem of racism; and more.
This summer, Lt. Governor Zuckerman will be travelling to bookstores and libraries around the state to highlight some of these banned books and to talk about the importance of free speech, inclusion, and dialogue.
