Priorities & Initiatives

The following are Lt. Governor Dubie's Priorities & Initiatives:

  • File Icon  "Make Friends. Peace Will Follow."
  • That was the theme of a Vermont Foreign Language Assocation poster contest a few years ago. It has been my theme, as well, as "Vermont's Ambassador to the World", building friendship and commerce between Vermonters and the world.

  • File Icon  Vermont's Sustainble Energy Future
  • Our energy future is changing before our eyes, as we work towards a sustainable energy future. Yankee ingenuity, a strong and growing scientific research community, and Vermont's reputation for a strong environmental ethic equip us to engage our future with energy and optimism.

  • File Icon  A Secure State, A Secure Nation
  • As Chair of the Governor’s Homeland Security Advisory Council, I work with first responders and law enforcement to ensure that our neighborhoods are safe, our borders are secure, and that Vermont is prepared to cope if disaster strikes.

  • File Icon  Healthy Living, Healthy Aging
  • As Chair of the Governor’s Commission on Healthy Aging, I have made it a priority to assure that older Vermonters – today’s and tomorrow’s -- can enjoy a good quality of life, better financial security, healthier living and more affordable health care, with the blessing of independence, and the comfort of community.
