Montpelier--Lt. Governor Dubie was deployed, effective Sept. 8, 2006, as a member of the US Air Force Reserve. He is serving a part of a field assessment team, currently in Iraq. Lt. Governor Dubie expects to return to Vermont and resume his duties as Lt. Governor before the end of the month.

As a member of the US Air Force Reserve, Col. Dubie has previously been deployed on a number of occasions, including to the Pentagon in response to typhoons in the Pacific, to the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics Emergency Operations Center, to New York City following the terror attacks of September 11, 2001, and to the Gulf Coast following Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
