ADVISORY -- Lt. Governor Brian Dubie to present International Aviation Art Awards to seven young Vermont winners

WHERE: Vermont Statehouse, Cedar Creek Room

WHO: Seven Vermont schoolchildren from: Randolph, Berlin, East Burke, Johnson, Waterbury and Guilford.

WHAT: Ten year-old Kaitlyn Giles of Randolph and 13-year old Jonathan Fuller of Berlin were first place winners in the Vermont judging for the 2004 International Aviation Art Contest, sponsored annually by the Federal Aviation Administration. Lt. Gov. Brian Dubie will present awards to Kaitlyn, Jonathan and the four runners-up.

Also receiving honors will be 2002’s international first-place winner, 17-year old Matthew Gauvin of East Burke. Matthew took first place from among more than 5000 entries in the international judging held in Vienna, Austria in 2002, after winning first place in 2002’s Vermont judging and third place in the national judging. This is Matthew’s first opportunity to receive his medals.

Vermont’s 2004 winners are:

Category 1 (age 6-9): 1st place: Kaitlyn Giles, Randolph; 2nd place: Nina Listo, Randolph; 3rd place: Will Reber, Johnson

Category 2 (age 10-13): 1st place: Jonathan Fuller, Berlin: 2nd place: Christian Buck, Waterbury; 3rd place: Nellie Detra, Guilford
