Lt. Gov. Phil Scott accepting internship applications

Nov. 1, 2011 -- Lt. Governor Phil Scott is now accepting applications for a legislative-session internship in his State House office.

The program is open to college students in all majors, and offers an opportunity to see and study the legislative process up-close. Interns perform a variety of duties in the Lieutenant Governor’s office, including legislative research, drafting talking points and press releases, and reporting on legislative committee meetings.

This paid internship can qualify for college credit, depending on individual school requirements. The program runs from January through April.

To be considered, applicants must submit a resume and letter of interest, and provide brief answers to five questions listed on the Lt. Governor’s website at ltgov.vermont.gov/internships. For more information, students can contact the office at 828-2226.

The application deadline is November 14.
